Let's add a nice example pic. The Peerix logo would be nice but is too big.--Milan 21:47, 19 Jul 2006 (NZST)

Puzzling preludes

Most times when I hit an "Edit" link on this wiki (including now), I get a four-line warning message above the edit box:

Sorry! We could not process your edit due to a loss of session data.

Because OrganicDesign Wiki has raw HTML enabled, the preview is hidden as a precaution against JavaScript attacks.

If this is a legitimate edit attempt, please try again.

If it still does not work, try logging out and logging back in.
  • "We could not process your edit"; well, that's no surprise because I've not given you an edit to process.
  • "...the preview is hidden..."; OK, as there's a good-looking reason, I don't mind too much, although I may have set my preferences to see preview at first edit.
  • "If this is a legitimate edit attempt, please try again"; try what? clicking "Edit" again? I've got an edit box in front of me so where's the problem?
  • "...try logging out..."; that's just too tedious; there must be a better way!

I think I have just ignored it nearly every time and had no problems. It's just a nuisance, taking up half the page and making me scroll down further to get started with editing or just examining the code.

Messages of that sort sometimes appear on Wikia when I click "Save" or the newly named "Publish" button, after I've delayed a long time after opening the edit box. Understandable in that situation as a security precaution. But it makes no sense to me appearing here as soon as the edit box appears and before there is any edit that the system could have been trying to process.

I hope the admins can check whether that intrusion is doing anything useful and remove or amend it if it isn't.
