I work with the OrganicDesign team in [[:Category:Devonport|Devonport]] and spend my days working on [[the project]] which involves a lot of philosophical thought about organisation (such as [[The Nodal Model]], [[wiki organisation]] and [[semantic organisation]]) and development on various [[:Category:Extensions|MediaWiki extensions]]. In 2007 I became one of the [http://svn.wikimedia.org/users.php official developers] so I could maintain some extensions directly in the [http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/ MediaWiki SVN repository].

At the end of 2011 on the [[:File:LastJavaCoffee.jpg|11<sup>th</sup> of November]] my wife Beth and I moved to [[:Category:Brazil|Brazil]] and bought some [[land]] to set up an independent off-grid lifestyle.

Of course, I have to spend some time each week on paid work too, but I try and restrict it to MediaWiki and wiki-based organisation so that it doesn't cause the other projects to stagnate. Most of my jobs come through other people affiliated with [[the project]] and usually involves setting up MediaWiki's with varying levels of organisational structure.

Hi, I'm Aran :-)

I'm from Devonport in New Zealand and I work on line as a software developer and GNU/Linux server administrator using only open source software for my work and in my personal life. My main interests are meditation, spirituality and eastern philosophy, agorism, freedom and liberty, programming, open source software and cypto-currencies, electronics, free energy and hacky sack. At the end of 2011 on the 11th of November my wife Beth and I moved to Brazil and bought some land to set up an independent off-grid lifestyle.

I have a basic Résumé but it hasn't been updated for years :-/
