We acknowledge that it is important for your children to have room to express themselves as well as have the necessary guidance in their young years in this often confusing world. It is a necessity to provide our children with the necessary skills and self confidence in order to be the responsible caretakers of our planet in the future. Values are the foundation of every society and it is vital that our children are not only aware of them but become an expression of those values for the greater good of all of us. To achieve this we want to facilitate a strengthening of their communication and cooperation skills, by featuring group work where kids can solve problems together by using their individual strength and practice their communication skills in order to work together harmoniously and effectively. Dear parents of Waiheke

We would like to offer your kids a place to grow and gain further understanding of what is happening around them in their lives. This can happen through talking one to one, group discussions, play and games and experiencing the use of different skills your children have. We acknowledge that it is important for your children to have room to express themselves as well as have the necessary guidance in their young years in this often confusing world. It is a necessity to provide our children with the necessary skills and self confidence in order to be the responsible caretakers of our planet in the future. It therefor is necessary to talk about different values in our lives and make a clear distinction between universal values, such as Love, Truth, Certainty, Nature and Humor and normative, cultural values which represent a certain way of behavior in different cultures. Values are the foundation of every society and it is vital that our children are not only aware of them but become an expression of those values for the greater good of all of us. Our vision is to move away from ego exalting, success seeking individuals towards a self-realising and cosmic grasping world family. To achieve this we want to facilitate a strengthening of their communication and cooperation skills, by featuring group work where kids can solve problems together by using their individual strength and practice their communication skills in order to work together harmoniously and effectively. We want to encourage and support your children to develop and formulate their own ideas and give them room to express themselves in different ways, e.g. flax weaving, Kumihimo, gardening, theater, music or sport. We also want to make use of the existing cultural diversity on the Island and provide space for cultural exchange so we together can learn to understand where differences originate from (behavior values) and also find our commons as human family (universal values).

If you and your children are interested to participate in such an undertaking we would like to invite you to a first meeting so we can create together an outline for the first month. To be flexible and response to your children needs and interest it is vital to start this course with a meeting of all parties involved.

We understand education as a lifetime process which does not finish with leaving school or university but rather continues throughout our lifetime. We as a community set the foundation for the further life's of our children and therefor the future of our planet.

About us

We are a group of three with a wide variety of skills and experiences. We all have traveled around the world for a considerable part of our lives before we found our home in New Zealand. Throughout our travels we have gained valuable knowledge and understanding we would like to share. Amongst us we have teaching experience with various age groups as well as degrees in psychology, social science and economics.
