I started learning [[w:bagua (concept)|bagua]] around the mid 90's, and joined [[about the project|the project]] in 2001 when I realised my IT skills could greatly help with the decentralised self-organising network aspect. At the time I didn't realise how difficult it would be to implement, because the project imposes strict criteria to ensure implementations are in accord with the spiritual principles. The main difficulties are [[self containment]], [[all aspects changeable]] and [[think global, act local]].

Current focus and plans for 2007 are about building up the content distribution layer using the [[nsd.c]] compact nodal core and the [[WikiFS:|WikiFS]] wiki as the interface. I'm also integrating more with the [[MW:|MediaWiki]] community by ensuring that all the development we do for our own work is made available as [[MW:User:Nad|documented extensions]].

Hi, I'm Aran :-)

I'm from Devonport in New Zealand and I work on line as a software developer and GNU/Linux server administrator using only open source software for my work and in my personal life. My main interests are meditation, spirituality and eastern philosophy, agorism, freedom and liberty, programming, open source software and cypto-currencies, electronics, free energy and hacky sack. At the end of 2011 on the 11th of November my wife Beth and I moved to Brazil and bought some land to set up an independent off-grid lifestyle.

I have a basic Résumé but it hasn't been updated for years :-/
