We use the term peer to refer to a man, women or other sentient being who is a member of an organisation, project or trust group. We use this tern rather than simply "person" because the legal meaning of person includes attributes which belong in the top-down domain. The word "peer" implies equality and freedom much more strongly than "person" does.

In the nodal model a peer is any software which implements a node space and applies nodal reduction to it. thus becoming part of the global Nodal Network. Since peers are instances of running software, they are tied to a particular runtime environment and thus are associated with the various resources like storage and bandwidth which are accessible locally from that environment.
