Hi, I'm Aran :-) I work with the OrganicDesign team in Devonport and spend my days working on defining and implementing the Platform network which involves a lot of conceptual thought about organisation (such as The Nodal Model, Platform specification and wiki organisation) and development on various MediaWiki extensions and procedures. In 2007 I became one of the official MediaWiki developers so I could maintain some extensions directly in the MediaWiki SVN repository. I have to spend some time each week on paid work too, such as Website skinning, but I try and restrict it to work that's related to OrganicDesign so that it doesn't cause the other projects to stagnate. Most of my jobs come through other people affiliated with this site and usually involves setting up or maintaining servers, MediaWikis or Drupals with varying levels of organisational structure. Most of the work I do outside this site I've started doing through some of the online contracting sites, because they have very good project management, payment and escrow systems.
