The Platform network is the name given to the total of all Platform organisations as a whole. The Platform specification defines how to operate as a "Platform" (a node in the Platform network).
Large-scale organisation
Due to the fact that Platforms are based on a shared system, multiple platforms form a network quite easily and can begin to implement concepts that require a certain scale in order to be feasible. Access to information about what is going on system-wide and the ease of creating and managing projects with the Platform software will lead to the rise of network-wide projects, products and services involving contributors from multiple platforms.
