History
- Arthur Balfour, Walter Rothschild (Balfour Declaration of 1917) - establish of the state if Israel

- Ayman al-Zawahiri (Islamic Jihad and Al-Qaeda), mentor of Osama bin Laden, see The Power of Nightmares
- 1981 (oct 06), Egyptian president Anwar Al Sadat was assasinated by Khalid Islambouli of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad for being the first Arab leader to officially visit Israel (for which he and Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin received the nobel piece prize in 1978 for their efforts to end the Arab-Israeli conflict). Over three hundred Islamic radicals were indicted in the trial, including Ayman al-Zawahiri, Omar Abdel-Rahman, and Abd al-Hamid Kishk.
