{{Blog|1=It was about four and a half years ago that Bitcoin first broke into four figures in USD price making it all the way up to $1,140. But then it crashed due to the Mt. Gox demise and all the negative publicity that created for Bitcoin itself (even though of course an exchange being hacked is nothing to do with the security of Bitcoin). It crashed all the way down to $266, and it never made it back up into four figures until January this year - who would have thought it would also make it to five figures in the same year!!! It's been hanging around in the late 9000's for a few days now, and last night it suddenly shot straight past 10K to almost 11K!

It was about four and a half years ago that Bitcoin first broke into four figures in USD price making it all the way up to $1,140.

Here's a screenshot of the Bitcoinity site after it hit $1,000, but with a couple of adjustments :-)
