I really like the pollen. Perhaps we can extentd this theme into a design concept. The theme of micro vs macro is appropriate, considering the discussion on the [[geoscope]] and some of [[w:Buckminster Fuller|Fullers]] other ideas.

Collaborate on the new home page here...

Yessir! I have been travelling but glimpsed the new developments and will be keen to turn bullets into paragraphs next week.

Must be much shorter: Our existing page suffers from over-complexity. It seems the new design is implementing the same level of complexity, but with a different layout. Visual imagery could help overcome this problem.

I don't want to sacrifice information for design. One of the biggest problems we've had all these years is not having an entry point which covers the various aspects of what's going on. Maybe we could add "read-more"'s or maybe have expandable headings like on wikinews main page... --Nad 19:41, 1 Oct 2006 (NZST)
It seems to me we are already sacrificing information for design in the sense that most people will not bother to read all the details. I realy like the way the current home intro paragraphs sound. I don't suggest we should throw away good information. May be expandadble headings could help. --Rob 20:24, 1 Oct 2006 (NZST)
I've started expandable tables using existing TOC javascript, but will have to do another script specialised for it because the TOC code won't default to collapsed state, and also seems to handle multiple tables badly - coming along tho --Nad 22:28, 1 Oct 2006 (NZST)
Done our own expandable tables script now in expandable.php, just having CSS problems now so I'll have a rest and do it some other time - CSS is doing that shit where it just won't listen to any changes to margin/width etc - fuckin' shit technology this html and css crap :-(
It does seem to be working, despite the css and html crap. You'll be just begging to get back to the nodal programming now ;) --Rob 02:24, 2 Oct 2006 (NZST)

I really like the pollen. Perhaps we can extentd this theme into a design concept. The theme of micro vs macro is appropriate, considering the discussion on the geoscope and some of Fullers other ideas. --Rob 11:00, 1 Oct 2006 (NZST)

I like pollen grains, but we'd need to find a non copyright pic first... --Nad 19:35, 1 Oct 2006 (NZST)
