- Departments
Of the four types of departmentalisation listed, for our purposes functional departmentalisation will be most useful. Departments are a common-sense way to structure and account for resources. The responsibilty for a department is given to whoever fills a given role within it, which endows the person with the necessary day-to-day experience with that department. Budgets are also assigned to divisions.
