| − | Yeah, the future/potential lines were just a pain in the arse, I found it easier just using dates and no date like you said. This problem of being too busy and having to do org after hours is not sustainable - and also, when you run your own org, that situation will actually get far worse than it is now. You have to get your daily org period scheduled in to work hours - scheduling it for after hours is "cheating", its no solution and so will keep coming up until solved.

| − | Ok, namespace problem is fixed I think - I've put both of you in to a CGS role, you from your [[Xml:User:Milan|properties]] and Rowan from his [[User:Rowan|user page]], and that seems to have worked ok - another category problem still persists which is that sort-keys aren't working (using pipes in category link to specify sort position in cat list).

| − | Not yet, you need to use a a list, but I was going to do that at some stage - I'll add it to my todo though if its not already there. There's a bug where you can't add user pages to categories - I'll have a look at it, but otherwise just add links between them for now. I'm setting up some of the cat stuff for you now.

| − | Re Ubuntu - that looks quite good for desktop/windows-like linux, but a server would be best not used for anything else - but if you need a useable linux system for other things too, any linux will be fine - but for a non-dedicated system the main wiki would be best staying where it is and I'd just put a local CGS wiki on it.

| − | Hi Milan. We're looking for a video card that has a RCA or Svideo output so the media center can display on a normal TV. If you want to send me your account details and the postage cost I can make a direct credit to you. Send them to my email rob@mintmedia.co.nz. Thanks for your help.

| − | Re Linux install - if you aren't tied to these odd *untu flavours, then [http://www.debian.org/ Debian] would be be the best choice for this situation. I'll need root access to install things. If it's on a permenant net connection and it gets left on and left alone, then we could move the main site to it - that would be cool cos it would save me about $100/yr. Also, if you get the options during install, say no XWindow layer as it's a resource pig. It doesn't need to take up much space as you don't need a monitor for it after install, it can just keep running and you can secure-shell to it from other systems on the network to do anything with it.
| |
| − | | |
| − | Also, if you make the server the only one directly connected to the net, then it will add a layer of protection to your network (if you're really in to this aspect, then [http://www.openbsd.org/ OpenBSD] is more secure than Debian, but exhibits a higher geek-requirement). You'll need to network cards in it to do this setup, because one connects it to net, the other to your main hub.

| − | There's no practical way around the having to update TOC thing, cos it's only after OO renders it that the number of pages is known. You can create a startup macro to update fields on load or print etc.
