Hey Aran, Everythings going pretty cool with the website except the slideshow takes ages to load and the photos only last a second, Im not sure about messing with your programming on this, do you reckon I can sort it or do I need to leave it up to you? Jewel 14:37, 8 May 2006 (NZST)

I haven't finished the programming on that yet, I was in the middle of making show one while loading the next. I'll try and get onto that soon. --Nad 19:21, 8 May 2006 (NZST)

Hi, I've got two probs cropping up after the move to wikiexpert server, one is the recentchanges have this warning at the top:

Yeah that's not going to work currently because https connections aren't working in PERL on wikiexpert server --Nad 18:20, 6 May 2006 (MST)
OK, which sync-list or merge-list do I remove MA-wiki from to stop my recent-changes display from being mangled?--Milan 18:47, 6 May 2006 (MST)
  • and I've got the images uploading problem like I had with the CGS wiki, nothing urgent here, just thought I'd let you know--Milan 17:55, 6 May 2006 (MST)
I had to set the perms on the images dir yesterday to fix that, when did you try this last? --Nad 18:20, 6 May 2006 (MST)
Yeah, images-upload works fine now, thanks
  • Also, have you noticed that the timestamps on our signatures are wrong? My time-offset for the server is fine and rc looks fine, it's just the signatures--Milan 18:47, 6 May 2006 (MST)

Yo, that was me then locking up http://wikiexpert.com :(. I didnt have a restriction on the number of years on my annuity calculator and accidentally processed 100,000 years * 52 weeks. I had to log onto the server and quickly restart apache to flush the http processes. Ive now put a restriction of 100 years on it. --Sven 21:56, 5 May 2006 (MST)

I dont mind uploading and catorgorising images it doesnt take me long I only have about 20 to go,

Jewel 19:40, 4 May 2006 (NZST)

Hows the stomach!!:-( Thanks for ya help Its like having my own personal online trainer. -- Jewel 21:24, 3 May 2006 (NZST)

Feeling a lot better thanks :-) still pretty week though - don't know how Travis went straight off to work again the day after! I didn't make it to that job in the end I just went to sleep as soon as I got home. --Nad 21:27, 3 May 2006 (NZST)
Thanks realised i hadnt saved them and shan was making me do plan stuff at same time I fixed them now, happy to hear u feelin better :-)
--Jewel 22:50, 3 May 2006 (NZST)

Yo, I have reinstalled Apache with mod-rewrite enabled, can you check its ok please. For some reason the switch had to be explictly added even though it is supposed to be default

cd /tmp
wget http://apache.mirror99.com/httpd/httpd-2.2.0.tar.gz
tar -zxvf httpd-2.2.0.tar.gz
cd httpd-2.2.0
./configure --enable-rewrite --enable-ssl
make
make install
Looks like it is still poked :( --Sven 21:33, 30 Apr 2006 (NZST)
I set up the mod-rewrite rules in httpd.conf and it's working fine :-) --Nad 21:36, 3 May 2006 (NZST)
D'ya reckon its time to dump the Hat n try some debianisation on its ass?
It must be a configuration issue, something small that is incorrect. Is your mod-rewrite rules utilizing the new absolute/relative parts of the apache paths
/usr/local/apache2/htdocs # all html/php code
/usr/local/apache2/cgi-bin # all cgi's
--Sven 07:34, 1 May 2006 (NZST)
I haven't done any rewrite rules yet - I didn't want to add any new more complexity to the system until its working. The main problem is this issue that's preventing the retreival of non executing files. I thought it best to have that fixed before adding rewrite-rules etc --Nad 09:31, 1 May 2006 (NZST)

Thanks for all your work!! I uploaded the zip program it only took about half n hour:( Will let ya know when i have a password still punching in the accounts, hav changed the link headings on the front page of KKHE but not sure how to space them properly looks ok as is though.I dont have one of those verticle line things (cant remember what they are called)to use before headings on my keyboard??? Jewel 19:14, 29 Apr 2006 (NZST)

you have my slideshow pics saved on your comp

Nad,

this Wikipedia bot is interesting, they have a manual override facility for anyone to clear pages, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Sandbot. This seems to be useful when people maliceously embed lots of large articles and make images that have increadible huge rescaled size. --Sven 10:55, 27 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Hi :-)

Yo, check out the Entrainment article I have started. Theres some nice CD making software in there to look at. --Sven 21:10, 24 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Yeah, I've had some therapy before courses with some kick-ass ones of those that were connected to an eeg, it's pretty cool --Nad 13:51, 25 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Re the wikiexpert redhat install, I was thinking the other day that all rpm's relating to php etc should be removed just to make sure there can be no interference with the source php install. Its something like ;

rpm -qa | grep php
rpm -e php-version

--Sven 23:16, 20 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Well what the hell are those 25 articles that were just created? --Nad 12:11, 20 Apr 2006 (NZST)
Yeah, yeah...I just wasn't aware that there is a 5 minute delay... on another note, I've made those changes to the Glossary article, but can't find out how I can get to Related Sites & Articles article that's embedded in the home page to make it link to Related Wikipedia Articles . That ampersand must be confusing the heck outta mediawiki/xmlwiki lol--Milan 12:17, 20 Apr 2006 (NZST)
OK, I'll do my stuff for 309 after I get back from WINZ, wish me well, my food expenses may be covered for weeks :-)
Yeah there is an ampersand bug that cropped up a few months back, but haven't been bothered fixing it - just type the move-page address in directly and change it to no ampersand. Also there's no "delay" on wikiSync, it just takes a long time to check the hundreds of articles in all the lists. Gir doesn't do delays, he works very hard as soon as he's asked to do something! --Nad 13:34, 20 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Hi Aran, well, sorry to interupt. i know you are going gonzo on the peerix interface. When/if you get a sec, i have a really rough draft of what im trying to do with quality records. Im ready for a hand in you showing/creating a way to 1) search xml properties of an article (you said it was inherint in Mediawiki?) and 2) being able to change the article's properties FROM WITHIN THE ARTICLE ITSELF (based on user permissions). This will make more sense once you see the example. I apologize again in advance if you get piles of test emails, you can always delete yourself from http://www.div0.com/wiki/index.php/Fcre/Mikerequest.html if it gets too noisy... this is the last big piece for me, then I will just be cleaning this up and soon, presenting something that will be very useful to you, OD, Meridian, the community, etc. --Phalseid 11:35, 18 Apr 2006 (NZST)

nad, found http://www.organicdesign.co.nz/XmlWiki_Properties and im reading.... Phalseid 08:29, 19 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Yeah those blocks should really be deletions. And where does camilla show up? She needs to go as well tho. But yeah, it should be just the 4 of us (+Peers of course) for now, with only you and me able to create new users, like you had it set up "accidentally" once. That way they can rest assured the content will be private, and we can publish/make accessible in an organised way. I will be setting up easy access to template dev on OD soon, just need to get the notes in there first.--Milan 13:39, 16 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Ok, Camilla removed, I sent her an email saying she can sign up here if she wants. So do you want the signup changed so that even other users like Dan[a] can't create new users? --Nad 14:22, 16 Apr 2006 (NZST)
Do you want me to delete Nat and Sven? --Nad 14:29, 16 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Yo, Im thinking we need to have a go at doing the matrix screen saver in ACTIONSCRIPT/swf sometime. --Sven 14:16, 10 Apr 2006 (NZST)

The new changes is the peer screensaver/desktop-background, doing a matrix-style for that would be cooler than cloud-style like the mac-rss one... and it can make good use of the 3D-space... could be a goer! --Nad 14:34, 10 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Yo, Ive quickly added something to the Sandbox subroutine so an extra job for User:Gir to do is now clear the Template:Sandbox, can you quickly check that my alteration is ok please, the diff of commands.pl is linked --Sven 07:58, 7 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Template:Sandbox still not being cleared, did you restart User:Gir? --Sven 08:16, 11 Apr 2006 (NZST)
Doesn't look like it, ps shows Gir running since Apr03, I just put the info here about how/when to do it --Nad 08:50, 11 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Is there a transform/template to recognise transclusion and embedding operators so the articles displayed within the operator can be linked? e.g.

+Template_talk:Linkmarkup

Ive made a start using a template but there are problems, e.g. the number of args is fixed, cant specify if its a +/* operator quickly etc. --Sven 14:22, 6 Apr 2006 (NZST)

You gotcha... Im looking at these articles with markup bits and would like to just click on the article in the wiki parts e.g. Jack/Actionscript sandbox--Sven 14:24, 6 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Yo, is there many other class attributes you can give to tables in MediaWiki/xmlwiki other than document-code? --Sven 13:40, 5 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Yes, there are infinite of them! just make up a class (probably use a namespace for them, eg document in document-code is meaning that it was generally to do with embedding which is document.php. An then put rules for your class in default-skin.css (or make another css to separate it out and add it to default-properties.xml). --Nad 13:52, 5 Apr 2006 (NZST)
Ok I see. I cant quite find the code in the css for the document-code class, is that the following code in default-skin.css?

.xwcode {

   font-size: 90%;
   font-family: courier new;
   line-height: 120%;

}

--Sven 07:38, 6 Apr 2006 (NZST)

Aw that's right, it's in document.css which is added ti the view stack by document.php --Nad 07:47, 6 Apr 2006 (NZST)
Thats most helpful, so the code is actually
table.document-code {
   width : 100%;
   margin : 1em 1em 1em 1em;
   border : thin solid #999999;
   }
table.document-code tr td {
   padding : 1em 1em 1em 1em;
   background-color : #d4d4d4;
   }
table.document-code h1.document {
   padding : 0;
   margin : 0;
   font-size : 9pt;
   font-weight : normal;
   text-decoration : underline;
   text-align : right;
   }
and Ive found the data stack --Sven 09:07, 6 Apr 2006 (NZST)
