Aims

To submit a proposal for working on the Living Together paper as part of a research position at a New Zealand university. The ideas discussed in the paper will be connected to the current discourse on political science, making them acceptable to mainstream academia. We will need to write a brief summary of what will be researched and need to contact academics for feedback. Once the proposal is polished enough we can then submit it as part of an application for an academic research position for Flo.

Through this we will achieve multiple objectives:

  • To secure gainful employment and payment for Flo (teaching) and Milan (writing), allowing Flo to build the case for his residency application by having a job offer for which he is uniquely qualified, and allowing Milan to be paid to write about the work that has taken place under the project.
  • To tie together the philosophy, ideas and technologies discussed on Organic Design succinctly and in a language that is acceptable to the academic mainstream.
  • Build the case for the project and gaining support for various aspects of it such as Peer development. This can then form the foundation of proposals for various sub-projects connected to the project.
  • To integrate real-world examples of the principles discussed in the paper and achieve exposure or support for said examples, such as sustainable communities and community centres, or Platforms

Concepts

  • The main emphasis is political science rather than philosophy, so philosophical concepts will need to be expressed within a political science framework
  • World government is one of the concepts addressed, however we want to avoid implying rigid centralisation. Further potential problems that arise from world government are corruption and the large interfering with the small. Rather, we want to express the idea of a "global" (in the sense of holistic) organisation and how local organisation can scale to world level
  • We need to build a connection between the concept of organic groups and the idea of institutions with a mandate (given how)?

Principles

Discuss from the solution

Place current problems in context of solutions, that is explain why or how a certain approach is taken, contrasting with current problems or discussing the achievement of currently impossible aims.
