Vege patch 2.0

We've now moved into a new flat in São Lourenço (Curitiba, Brazil), and have a small place to ourselves for a year which has some space for planting vegetables. The soil looks very bad as you can see from the first picture below, so the first step is to make it more fertile. We can already get a good harvest of perfect fresh spinach as there's a whole lot growing on the pavement! the second picture shows a typical harvest of pavement spinach :-)

First session

We had to quickly pull some weeds out and clear some space for some of the potted veges we'd started growing in the pensão that were starting to die. Unfortunately the overgrown weeds had become a home for a big fat frog which had to relocate :-(

Vege patch 1.0 next to our New Zealand flat

We have a vegetable garden next door at the organic garden center. Recently Beth went over and talked to the guys there who gave us a small patch to look after and put a sign on it to say it's ours - or Beths actually :-)

Our patch already has some things in it, but we don't know what some of it is, but there's Rocket, Lettuce, Kale, Basil, Capsicum, Aubergine, Beans and Beetroot.
