I started learning bagua around the mid 90's, and joined the project in 2001 when I realised my IT skills could greatly help with the decentralised self-organising network aspect. At the time I didn't realise how difficult it would be to implement, because the project imposes strict criteria to ensure implementations are in accord with the spiritual principles. The main difficulties are self containment, all aspects changeable and think global, act local.

After about five years and many failed versions later, the nodal reduction algorithm was completed which is a geometrically-based process description and execution method based on the bagua and forms a foundation for all higher functionality such as the network and interface layers.

Current focus and plans for 2007 are about building up the content distribution layer using the nsd.c compact nodal core and the WikiFS wiki as the interface. I'm also integrating more with the MediaWiki community by ensuring that all the development we do for our own work is made available as documented extensions.
