- Prana Retreat 23 Feb - 28 Mar 2006
From February 23 this has been my new home, under pine trees, only a short sprint away from a breathtaking beach. You have seen the photos, right? I started a new life at Prana, then moved up to Whitianga to persue a business alliance with a company called Meridian Alliance.
The people here are treating me kindly and we are developing social and work relationships now. I have come onto this land within the general framework of what is known as WWOOFing - and yes, that name really has to go! You work for 20 hours a week in exchange for a roof over your head and food. Sure, great pay it isn't - it's more of a lifestyle choice for me. I live at a great place and can work very flexibly. Plus, I can be connected to the world via broadband Internet.
- Whitianga 28 Mar - Present
In travelling up and down this beautiful coast, and discovering the towns of Whangamata, Pauanui, Tairua and Whitianga, I have found people to be quite open and welcoming. In this general climate of supportiveness, an acquaintance from a christmas party last year got in touch with me and we have since discovered that there would be a lot of synergy potential if we developed a business partnership. Dana has generously offered me access to his office in Whitianga and it has proven a productive work environment already. I don't really want to say more until it's all "official" but it certainly is good to be working with people who are as passionate about contributing to a better world as I am.
They want to transform the alternative energy and sustainable estate development sectors here in NZ and need some decent organisational software for it, so Aran and I will be taking care of that aspect for them. We have developed a tentative working relationship with these guys and over the next weeks we will see how things develop. There is a lot of work here, and a lot of opportunity.
I'll send you links once all the web content gets to a publishable format. My photos on Flickr show you where Whitianga is.
It is great here and I have made my life so flexible that I can now pursue opportunities all over New Zealand. I do like the East coast of the Coromandel tho. It has a strong, clear energy.
- Gossiup material (or lack of?)
Still I'm single, moving too fast for the girls to notice me :-) And too busy. I am just happy by myself and sorting out my life, my finances, etc. Not really looking for anyone.
- A good life, this?
- High potential
- What work?
- Evolving work contracts
