  • When you say "it won't run non-apple software" do you mean they've prevented that at a hardware level, or is that just a restriction of the OS it ships with? --Nad 19:13, 12 Jan 2007 (NZST)
I don't know the gorey details but initially, from the OS level, you cannot add your own application to the iPhone. The bootloader details are unknown to me but I expect there would be some kind of lockout in firmware. Whether this is a barrier to use, time will tell.
