The Inspiron 1525 is an entry-level laptop designed to include most of the features required for everyday home and business use. The design represents an evolution and slimming-down of the 1520 series laptop, which was criticised as being too bulky. In the USA, Dell are offering the laptop with Ubuntu pre installed, therefore it should be a breeze to set up as an Ubuntu workstation. The 1525 is generally praised for presenting good value, including features such as HDMI-out or optional 7200rpm HD that one would expect in more expensive multimedia laptops, while the integrated Intel X3100 graphics solution is seen as a weakness, meaning the users of this laptop won't be spending too much time playing 3d games! Dell does not offer an optional dedicated graphics card with this laptop.
