The organisation's system is like a computer program has the market place for its executional runtime environment. The market place is composed of consumers and as such is an entropic environment (it breaks down complex structure into simpler forms). This sounds negative, but this consistent force of reduction is what gives rise to potential for change - to continue the runtime analogy, it acts as the interpreter which reads and executes the programs.

A system is a working description of entities and their interactions; i.e. an abstraction of people and the things they interact with). When a group of people work together in an agreed upon way toward a common vision, they become an organisation. In the context of OrganicDesign the group of people are a trust group and the fundamental kind of organisation they can choose to become is a platform by implementing together the system defined by the platform specification.
