regardless, the point is to have a tool that fits the process, not a process that fits the tool. the process is paramount, and since many of the tools out there are not process centric it leads to the mess we have for software currently.  Vtiger does a good job of handling ACL, contacts, leads, workorders, sales, and invoices. it is week in process, workflow, and file management.

might i suggest (again) vtiger in lieu of sugarcrm. the reasons for include:

  • personal experience with vtiger installs and modifications
  • extensive skin work already done in vtiger
