A procedure (for purposes of the ISO 9001 implementation) is defined as a documented process for quality activities that are interdepartmental. The intent of the procedures are to be used as a reference where they will provide guidance and consistency when employees perform quality related tasks.

For our internal use, most of the procedures documented herein are actually subtasks of larger procedures. A procedure can be repeated for differnent clients at the same time, or repeated for the same client at different times.

A procedure is workflow of events and involves many actors. A procedure is complete from start to end. A procedure is a transcluded article that follows ETVX

  • Often confused with process, used interchageably sometimes.

Examples of a Procedure

  • doing a payroll from start to finish
  • issuing a refund check
  • hiring a new employee
