should we (Adeft) use basecamp for our Projects or try to do it on this here wiki? I was going to start here, but seeing you use a different tool has given me pause.....--Phalseid 22:31, 5 Oct 2006 (NZST)

It's your decision to make based on what features each has and what you need, Swanson Sanctuary uses basecamp because it has various features for project management which are incomplete or missing in XmlWiki and probably won't be developed until we're in the new peerd environment. But from what I hear, basecamp isn't much use for content management. --Nad 23:02, 5 Oct 2006 (NZST)
Yes, the reason I am using basecamp is that it can handle scheduled milestones and allows the assigning of tasks to various users. Everything else it does, including permissions, seems like a bunch of hacks to me. The other reason was that the group i have been working with (Co-creating Work Community) is using basecamp so i have had to join them there to work with them. A lot of people love Basecamp because it is "simple and friendly", but that's because they don't know what "proper software" should look like! These are the reasons i am using it, to tap into the momentum of existing users on it and for it's project management capabilities. Rest assured i will be helping Aran borgify all aspects of Basecamp into the proper Peer interface as soon as practical, because I don't actually enjoy using it. Feel free to look around the Basecamp we have set up using the guest login.--Milan 00:30, 6 Oct 2006 (NZST)
