This is interesting as the trend of increasing household electricity retail prices is reasonably linear over time. An increase of 6.9% per annum is well above New Zealands consumer price index calculations of inflation running at around 3.5%per annum. Considering electricty is cheap to generate in New Zealand due to our abundance of Hydro sources and wind generation, the increases must be due to addional demands to to immigation, household increases in consumption, and price pegged relative to other energy prices, for example oil/petrol prices. --Sven 23:02, 11 Feb 2007 (NZST)
