A private P2P framework is essential in our view, but there's also many other things that we at Organic Design have found to be invaluable tools to have available in a decentralised groupware framework, such as support for [[workflow]] and [[contract]] oriented organisation, [[trust group]]s and the prioritisation of the [[w:sneakernet|sneakernet]] and [[mesh]]ing support to name a few. We have so many specific needs and ideas that we'd like to experiment with ourselves, that having our own peer-to-peer groupware framework is the best way forward for us even if there may be some other systems that are more mature or better in some respects.
