Trinity

i want to see more about the trinity mentioned here. im wondering if this article can be broken up to be transcluded to be included in my/other business plans? a lot of work seems to be started here already done as far as what i want to include in my business plan/operation paln. do i have permission to do so? --Phalseid 17:57, 19 Jun 2006 (NZST)

The trinity is not a useful source of documentation, we've extracted the useful text from them --Nad 13:09, 20 Jun 2006 (NZST)
Hi Peder, looks like the wikisync is doing the trick! The Trinity is a series of three booklets, written by Aran and myself in 2003, designed to explain the principles of the project and give people the tools to set up their own organisations based on those principles. They had a similar structure used to explain The Project from the perspective of Heaven, Man and Earth, or in more everyday terms, Knowledge (Research and Development), People (Administration) and Methods & Tools (Management).
In retrospect it wasn't too well-written or received, but that doesn't matter because the key concepts are actually alive and well in the form of Peer development and the glossary and organisational templates being developed here on the Organic Design wiki. Hope that helps, --Milan 13:12, 20 Jun 2006 (NZST)
okay, im got a little chill here. your Knowledge/People/Methods/Tools is very much like my Idea/People/Things which is how i have been trying to explain this to people. It is how I got so caught up in Borromean Rings. maybe it's subliminal or something. --Phalseid 18:22, 19 Jun 2006 (NZST)
It's inevitable that similarities form as one moves in the direction of generalisation. The principles on which the project is based is the same principle defined in Ba Gua (Chinese), Advaita (Hindu/Buddhist) and Kabalah (Judao-christian). There is only one Spiritual Truth which all traditions attempt to describe in one way or a another. --Nad 13:29, 20 Jun 2006 (NZST)

OD-dev, OD-biz & P1

The OD-dev group (everything under the organicdesign.co.nz domain) are a group of peers and apart from specific contracts we may enter in to, we're bound only by our principles, not by any other person, group or legal entity.

I'd like us to get a good clear statement prepared regarding the relations between OD dev, OD business and P1 (both under the organicdesign.org.nz domain) which I started in the P1 team article, but should eventually be added to this About article.

The general principle here is that in peer-based organisation there is no concept of a "boss" as such - just contracts amongst peers and peer-groups.

People are "kept in line" by the fact that they will loose opportunity if they fail to adequately deliver services they were contracted to deliver.

People in the network may choose to enter into longer term contracts which result in relationships more like that of employer-employee. For example, the OD.org business could work within the normal taxation model as a standard employer and hire a bunch of full-time employees if it wished to do so and had sufficient funds.

The members making up the OD-dev team have a strong focus on independence and sovereignty, and so would lean toward the structure of multiple deliverables-oriented contracts. The OD-dev team and their sites under the od.co.nz domain form a "virtual organisation" and have no legal entity, bank accounts or obligations to IRD etc.
