- New Zealand wiki administrator - site could use more contributors, particularly from Kiwis who have the occasional half hour to spare
Quoting from http://www.wikia.com/Terms_of_Use - "The words WIKIA and WIKICITIES are registered trademarks of the Company in the U.S. and/or in other countries. The Company's trademarks may not be used, including as part of trademarks and/or as part of domain names, in connection with any product or service in any manner that is likely to cause confusion and may not be copied, imitated, or used, in whole or in part, without the prior written permission of the Company. " Possibly doesn't apply in NZ.
I found this site because it's the example site for the Calendar extension (probably because its inventor has this site as his main web address). Not the most illuminating example of something, but it lets one see how it works. It's available on request for Wikia sites. I think I'll ask for it on a couple, since the barrylb one has been withdrawn.
This site had (at my first look, on about 5 Apr 2011) 184 uncategorised categories. 1054 uncategorised pages. Mention of Semantic MediaWiki but apparently no installation of it, so there really would be value in a properly comprehensive category system. I see that there are namespaces called Config, Create, Extension, Form, and Portal, so there must be something progressive going on!
