Core business refers to the set of activities a business (or organisation or project etc) performs that are directly related to its purpose, rather than the secondary activities that support that purpose, such as reception, administration, filing and book-keeping.

The organisational system we're developing here at OrganicDesign in the Platform specification is concerned with these secondary aspects and doesn't focus on the organisation's core business at all. This is because our vision primarily involves helping diverse organisations and systems to align with each other and with the common values while minimising the changes to their core business as much as possible.
