General Comments & Nags

  • Thanks to the various forms of support offered by the SFD, this project was way easier to pull off than just doing something as an isolated event. With a bit more preparation it could be quite a sizeable yet relaxed event. We were wondering how to make the community aware of free and open source software, and this is a good start. It is also interesting from a business perspective in that it represents a peer to peer and open source marketing campaign. We knew that such things are possible, put partaking in an actual instance is valuable as a test of our theories. So far, the theories are holding up fine.--Milan 17:12, 21 September 2008 (NZST)
  • Bit annoyed that we are doing a leaflet campaign and didn't tie in the SFD to kick off the marketing for the local business (Wharf IT).--Milan 17:12, 21 September 2008 (NZST)
  • On the other hand, it means that something like SFD could be used to launch any p2p open source business or venture, simply by offering to host the event!--Milan 17:12, 21 September 2008 (NZST)
