My thoughts are that the following statement doesnt need to be there;

  • While high efficiency on a large scale may not be in the best interests of the economy, it is very good for the planet and all the life it supports which is in a critical condition.

Everyone would like to strive for efficiency, we just dont necessarily have the tools. This project sees to be about providing the tools/framework for efficiency/collaboration etc. I think be to the point about the project goals, p2p wiki etc, Its the first (and maybe last) sentence that people read before choosing to continue looking or leave.

I agree with the below. As the summary is the public statement of purpose it should realy be arrived at off-line then published when everybody is happy. I don't wish to neglect the wider scope of what we are doing either.

We should just discuss any ideas first here then make changes - I don't really care what it says, but I suppose it's just a general principle to avoid problems, especially one day when there's many more people editing - like on the 'pedia :-)

We probably do need to work out a better layout though, so we can have some actual information about the project rather than just links - but not pushing the links off...

Rob, I think it's good to talk about the universal OS type aspect, but the project is about more than that. I actually think it would be good to add this bit to what was there before. We all have individual aspects that we are working on but we should find a consensus regarding what the big picture is that we are working towards. In that sense, what Aran wrote before resonated more with me.
