• I agree that any talk about galactic alignment must refer to a very wide window that occurs over 250 years. Nevertheless, if one takes the center point between 1900 and 2100, that is the year 2025 - still not too far from the end date of the Long count calendar. This is then another astronomical marker of a cycle and not likely an indicator that some thing will happen during the year 2025.
• Aveni refers to the winter solstice, but technically, since it is summer in the southern hemisphere in December, and only winter in the northern hemisphere, the December solstice is the correct term.
