Platter and drive mechanisim
Once you remove the slip mat the platter is exposed. The sticker talks about how to correctly fit the drive belt. As you lift the platter the drive belt will slip off.
With the platter removed we see the drive, auto-return and start-stop mechanism. Notice that the drive gear is suspended separately from the bed of the turntable. A very nice design.
I was a little concerned that adding a push button to the controls might cause jumping problems if the button was pressed too roughly. As you can see from the enlargment this will not be a problem.
